Why a Formal Performance Review Isn't Necessary

Up Raise hell - we used to call appraisals back then..then one day when we needed to do it for for our juniors..we knew how tough it was really...

This is not necessary that if we are in an industry that is hit by the recession, The thing is that why the performance appraisal is conducted,its conducted to reward those who had put there efforts and come up with extraordinary results.
What if we are in recession phase,
These employees are the one with whom struggle and motivation takes us from the recession to the boom.
