6 Ways to Give Feedback to Your Boss and Coworkers

Dear Evil HR Lady,

I recently started a new job at an amazing company. It’s a really open culture and it feels as if my opinion counts more here than it has before.

My boss often asks for my feedback on how things are going. I have a ton of ideas that I think would be really helpful to my boss and our team. If I share too much feedback privately will my ideas simply make him or colleagues look good and keep me in the shadows? Will sharing too much feedback hold me back?

I am a very young female working with the adminstrative team at a government hospital. Because of my eagerness to gain experience, I am often invited to executive meetings and asked for my input. While I also have a ton of ideas and would share them with the team when I began the job, I quickly realized that I was not worknig in an environment that is open to change. Therefore, my hard work and research was appreciated but would never be instituted because it was changing how things were always done. I would take advantage of sharing the ideas even though you may not receive full recognition, especially if you know that your ideas will be instituted. Remember that while your boss my propose this to the team and not give public recognition that these were your ideas, both you and him will always know. When you are updating your resume they can be included and will look good to future employers that you had such great impact at your previous workplace.
