Why am I evil? Well, I'm not, but that's the perception of all of us in HR. Need to fire someone? Come to HR. Need to explain to someone why, even after working their rear end off all year, that their annual increase is 2.7%? Come to HR. Need to come up with new mountains of paperwork? Come to HR. So, come join me on the Evil Side. Oh, and send me your HR questions.

Hi Suzanne,
You might want to ask BNet to correct the spelling on the title.
Great post though, and THANKS for making me discover those gems from Kelly Scott!!
Rodolphe,
Good to hear from you again!
And how embarrassing about the headline typo--especially since I made it.
And yes, those gems from Kerry Scott are PRICELESS.
This is so totally true, and it is relevant in almost every aspect of your business and life. For instance, in my work with project managers and PMOs I have discovered that it is just as important to know when to quit a project as when to fund or continue funding one. These sunk costs can be incredibly detrimental to a business, particularly if they are allocating substantial resources that prevent them from pursuing other, potentially more profitable projects.
Ohhh yeah this is so true. Sometimes its better to quit that fight for nothing! But quitting is for losers only. :D
